Time for the guitar parts of Mr. Speed by KISS. A great song from one of their best albums, Rock and Roll Over, if you ask me! This lesson includes rhythm and lead guitars with tabulature included. I have included both play-through and a detailed lesson for both parts, see the index below!
I have included some links below; to my Bass lesson for Mr. Speed, the original Rock and Roll Over version and then the demo version of Mr. Speed. This one is a bit interesting as Bob Kulic claimed he played on it and I have no reason to doubt that – it’s certainly not Ace playing! But I do find it interesting as Bob always seems a bit condescending when talking about Ace… Sure, he was a technically more proficient guitarist than Ace, but on this occassion I must say Ace crushed the demo versions solo’s and fill-ins. Well, that is just my opinion.
Thanks for watching and you had some use for this lesson! If you wanna support my channel, use the link provided below to subscribe! An endless cosmic Thank You to all you who do sub, very much appreciated!!

Kemper Profiling Amp
The drive effects in the Kemper Profiling Amp has finally got some updates! It is still in the beta version so you need to be willing to “take that risk” but it might be worth it. First out here is the Kemper Drive, an effect that is supposed to be more than just one drive!
That’s right, Kemper claims it’ll emulate no less than nine other overdrives; Ibanez/Maxxon TS808/TS9, Klon Centaur, BOSS OD-1/SD-1, Marshall Blues Breaker MkI, Analogman King of Tone, Timmy Overdrive and the Horizon Precision Drive. I decided to try out most the presets suggested by Kemper themselves and that is what you will find in this video. I can’t really say if they truly emulates the aformentioned drives but can testify the Kemper Drive sounds really good!! It’s a sweet and free addition to the already existing drive-effects within the Kemper.
Thanks for watching and hope you liked the video! Should it happend that you wanna support my little channel – subscribe! A fat, big Thank You goes out to all you who already do!!!
What you’re watching is a bass lesson for Mr. Speed by KISS, provided with tabulature and detailed instructions. I decided to split up the bass and guitar lessons to different videos and this is the first where I do it… unless you count the lesson for Black Diamond, where it was kinda mixed up.
I have also included two different parts; one where I play along with my recording and one where I go through the song more slowly and detailed, both versions includes TABs. I think maybe I did a little error on the first verse in the detailed part but watch the TABs and you’ll get it right. Shit happends…
As for the recording, my good friend Micke Back was kind enough to drag his drum kit over here and record three classic KISS songs with me. It’s refreshing working with a real drummer rather than having to program drums… but I am not a pro when it comes to mix live drums, still I am kinda happy with the result here. The mix heard in the video is actually not the final mix but good enough I hope… I’m actually thinking of re-doing the bass parts as my bass would really do well with a change of strings!
And if anyone is curious about the thumbnail picture, that is my last bike – a Honda Blackbird. I just thought that pic goes well with the song’s title. Unfortunately I had to give up my biker days due to a shoulder injury that took several years to heal… I’d like to ride again but currently it seems I invest my spare money into guitars instead! 😉
Another pedal frenzy from Have Guitar – let’s have a closer look at the Purple Platypus Octidrive MKII from Way Huge! So this pedal is based on the Way Huge Red Llama overdrive but with an added frequency doubler and a hi-cut-control that will let you fine tune your sound.
This pedal is limited to 1000 units but I really don’t know if that is a really small number of units when it comes to pedals… But, it isn’t listed at Way Huge webpage so that makes me guesstimate it’s a lesser production.
So what can you expect from this pedal? Well it’s basically a fuzz but with that doubler it’s kinda different from a any ordinary fuzz. When you hit the gas with this pedal you might notice that it doesn’t always handle multiple notes at the same time too well. Or maybe you’ll like that, who knows?! For me it’s not too useful on an everyday basis but you can get some really fat weird noises with it, that might have it’s place where you’re going.
That’s it, hope you liked this demo/review! If you wanna support my channel – subscribe! Anyways, thanks for watching!! A very sincere Thanks to all you who subscribes!!!
Time to demo another fine Kemper profile pack from Live Ready Sound – PV Block Mod+. These profiles recreates the sound of a Peavey 6505+, modded to 5150 Block letter specs with some additional options including a variable negative feedback mod and the ability to run both 6L6 and EL34 power tubes.
So far this pack is all about gain with all of its 93 studio profiles but knowing Live Ready Sound I’m pretty this will expand in coming updates, free of charge if you buy the pack! I had great fun trying out this pack and I hope that shines through in the video.

Black Diamond by KISS (Bass lesson & End solo lesson)
This is part two of my lesson for KISS Black Diamond, this time with the bass and the end lead part. For the first video check out the links below (rhythm guitar and the first lead). The Black Diamond backing track featured in this video is recorded by me (I might put that up as a separate video later on!).
I wanna point out I miss a very small part of the lead towards the end but if you follow the TAB’s on-screen you’ll figure it out – I play it as it should be in the backing track. Also don’t forget to check out KISS live on the Destroyer tour, link provided below…
So KISS was rockin in the 70’s and so could you be, if you subscribe to my channel! Thanks for watching and a Big Fat Thanks to all you subscribing, t-t-t-thanks!
