Soul Food by Electro Harmonix (Guitar overdrive pedal test / review)
Pedal Frenzy from Have Guitar!

It has taken me some time to do a proper demo of Electro Harmonix “transparent” overdrive pedal Soul Food, but I can tell you already – it’s one of my drive pedals that I use most for kicking in a sweet boost to the tones…

So what does “transparent overdrive” mean anyways? I believe that started with the legendary Klon Centaur pedal in the 90’s – what is basically does is taking what you already got and boost that. Yeah, that’s it – it doesn’t totally take over the sound, instead it can boost a good sound to something a little bit more pushed but it keeps the basic character.

As the original Klon Centaur goes for ridiculous prices, a pedal like the Soul Food from EHX is a welcome alternative with a price tag much nicer for your economy. There are other alternatives as well, in different price ranges but this video is about the Soul Food so lets keep focused on that now.

HG-6 Distortion Pedal from NUX (stomp box demo) by Have Guitar!
Pedal Frenzy from Have Guitar!

It’s Saturday nite special bonus bonanza Pedal Frenzy from Have Guitar!

Looking for a cheap distortion stomp box? Well, maybe you should just turn your head in another direction then. No, I got some descent sounds out from this NUX HG-6 distortion pedal but it sure did not go well with the Kemper.

And the HG-6 is cheap, I got it for around 20 Euros (24.6 USD) from China and be sure not to pay a penny more than that! It has some features that sounds promising like true bybass, analogue circuits and Tube simulation… and as said, it is not completely useless unless you have a Kemper – in that case I would rather recommend you to use the Kempers internal effects. but anyways, it’s red and you might have a chance of winning this pedal in the future so look out!

I do hope that you liked this video and if you do – pretty please subscribe to my channel, to support me. More Sub’s open up the possibilities for more varied videos on Have Guitar! To each and every one already subscribing – Thank You, the support is very much appreciated!

Pedal Frenzy! Neunaber Immerse Reverberator

Have Guitar! is happy to present to you the stomp of the month, the pedal frenzy of Neunaber Immerse Reverberator! This pedal is designed to give you the best of the reverbs from the Neunaber Expanse and there’s some very nice reverbs coming out from this lil’ box. You will get no less than eight effects here: Wet, Hall, Plate, Spring, two “Shimmers”, wet+echo and wet+detune – where the last one is like a really sweet chrous effect.

(And Yes! I did add stills of the pedal eventhough I said wouldn’t… )

The Neunaber Immerse will give you a host great sounding reverb effects and as seen above you will get a delay and a chorus effect to add to that. The pedal has also tow additional switches; Kill Dry (where you only will hear the wet signal, the reverb so to speak) and Trails (where activated the reverb continues when you turn off the pedal). All in all – good sounding reverbs, a couple of extra effects and many many option to tweak the sound that you are after. Now… hit play on that video!

Hey! If you like the video… please do subscribe to Have Guitar! It’s just a click on the sub-button but every sub helps the channel to grow, which means more chances I will be able to do more guitar releated videos… so I hope you liked it! Thanks to all you who already subscribe!!
