65 Twin Verb by ToneJunkie (Kemper profiles demo)

Rig Showcase by Have Guitar!

Here’s a nice pack from ToneJunkie – the 65 Twin Verb Kemper profile pack! The pack recreates the sound from a Fender 1965 Twin Reverb, known for its huge, full, warm and bright cleans. You get 40 Studio and 17 Direct profiles for your Kemper in this pack.

As always ToneJunkie provides dynamic and varied profiles and this pack makes no difference in that. Just don’t expect any high gain bonanza because that is just not what ToneJunkie is about!

Thanks for watch and hope you liked the video. If you wanna support me – subscribe! A very Big Thanks to all you who do!!

Supro Black Magick by Gold Lion Studio (Kemper profiles demo)

If you’re looking for a vintage Zeppelinesque tone then this might be the Kemper profile pack for you: Supro Black Magick from Gold Lion Studio! This pack contains 20 Studio profiles ranging from low to medium gain!

The Supro Black Magick amplifier is a recreation of the same amp that Jimmy Page used. Quote from Supros webpage; “a recreation of one of Rock & Roll music’s holy-grail amplifiers. This all-tube, high-gain blues machine hearkens back to the dimensions, cosmetics and circuitry of the Supro amps from 1959, just like the one loaned by Jimmy Page to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Museum.”

The profiles are dynamic and they are really sensitive to your pick attack, pick loosely for an almost clean tone then attack harder for a vintage roar! Very nice indeed!

Thank You for watching Have Guitar, hope you liked it! If you wanna support this crazy Swede subscribe, share, comment and like!! And as always a very BIG thank You, to all you who already do!!!

Martian 2000 by Live Ready Sound (Kemper profiles demo)

Time to test out a new profile pack from Live Ready Sound – Martian 2000! This pack recreates the sound from a Marshall DSL100 JCM2000 and yes, it keeps the usual high standards we’re used to see from Live Ready Sound!

The first version of this pack comes with 57 studio profiles and 11 direct profiles, created with a bunch of different mic’s and speakers… check out the link below for more information on this profile pack.

The Marshall JCM2000 seems to be well regarded by guitarists by looking at the discussions online. Judging from these profiles, well I can just concure – it sure sounds sweet to me!

Hope you enjoyed the video – feel free to support my channel with a subscription if you did! (Sub-link provided below…) Forever and ever a Big Thanks to all of you who do subscribe!!

WZRD Pack by Selah Sounds (Kemper profiles demo)

WZRD Pack by Selah Sounds (Kemper profiles demo)

It’s been a long while since I featured any profiles from Selah Sounds but this is their WZRD Pack for the Kemper Profiling Amp! These profiles seeks to recreate the sound of a Wizard Wizard Modern Classic II amplifier.

The Wizard amps are handmade in Canada and used by artists like Billy Gibbons (ZZ Top) and Lynyrd Skynyrd. According to Selah Sound this is amp reminds about a Marshall but “more percussive than compressed”. The amp features two channel, one is clean and the other one is of course lead/gain. The tone of these profiles are organic and warm, very nice to play to put it simply!

Read more about Wizard amps at the link below or if you fancy the profiles; follow the link to Selah Sounds webshop.

Krank Rev 1 Ultimate Kemper Pack by Gold Lion Studios (Kemper profiles demo)

Rig Showcase by Have Guitar!

Time to try out a brand new Kemper profile pack from Gold Lion Studios – the Krank Rev Ultimate Kemper Pack! This is a gain best of an amp and (I believe) mostly used by metal bands. But it can do more than so, if you ask me…

This pack from Gold Lion Studios comes with studio, merged and direct profiles, 55 profiles all in all and it ranges from clean to drippin’ gain! I really liked the variation that this profile pack offers, the profiles are tweaked with a good variation to’em and there’s also effects included from the start. I had a blast when doing this demo and I hope that comes through in the video…

Thanks for watching Have Guitar! If you wanna support me, please do subscribe (see link below). Thank You to all you subscribers, you guys and gals rock!

Dry Martini by Tone City (Review / Demo / Showcase)

Pedal Frenzy by Have Guitar!

The American writer E.B. White said about the Dry martini; “the elixir of quietude”, which of course is something you couldn’t (or maybe shouldn’t) say about an overdrive pedal like the Tone City Dry Martini… (yes, he was talking about the drink).

So this is a demo/review of the Tone City micro pedal Dry Martini. This is a clone of the Fulltone OCD pedal and features about the same controls as the OCD; Volume, Tone, Gain and a high/low gain switch. The gain is best described as low to medium with a punchy character (think a tube amplifier at its ‘sweet spot’). It should be noted that the latest version of the Fulltone OCD has some features that the Dry Martini hasn’t; like the ‘Enhanced bypass’ for example.

This video is all about the Tone City Dry Martini on its own, no comparison with the Fulltone OCD. If not already out, I will soon release a “blind test” video where you can test if you can spot which is the original pedal (or which of them you would prefer). I’ve used one clean sound and one slightly overdriven sound for this review, should be noted that due to a malfunction the sound in the overdriven sound part of the video is captured by room microphones.

Hope you like the video – support Have Guitar! with a subscription! I’m very grateful to all you who already do, Thanks!

DP Durple by Tone City (pedal review – demo – showcase)

Pedal Frenzy by Have Guitar!

Here’s a new guitar overdrive pedal from Tone City – DP Durple! So it is not a signature pedal but it’s collaboratively designed by Tone City and “Danish Pete” from Andertons. The DP Durple is based on Tone City Mandragora OD but modified to suit Danish Pete’s tonal taste.

So the Tone City Mandragora is based on the Kalamazoo Love Drive and the DP Durple is as said based on the Mandragora, with some modifications. The Mandragora’s ‘Pre’ (presence) has been replaced by a ‘Mid’ control that let’s you cut or boost the amount of mid-range. The ‘Tone’ control has been adjusted to be less bright, offering a more moderate amount of treble so it’s not too shrill at the higher settings.

Otherwise it’s a small but sturdy analogue pedal; metal casing and true bypass. The dimensions are 4.2 x 5.2 x 9.3 cm and it needs a 9VDC power supply, no battery compartment. The controls are gain, volume, mid and tone.

Thanks for watching Have Guitar – hope you liked this video! If you wanna support the channel – subscribe! A very Big Thanks to my subscribers as always!!

Top 5 2019 Kemper profile packs! (Kemper profiles demo)

Top 5 by Have Guitar!

Another year passed and here is my top 5 list of the packs that I have demoed during 2019! It was not an easy task to pick out only 5 of the 40 something packs that I have had the pleasure of testing. It’s a dirty job but someones gotta do it! I have taken all sorts of things into consideration when chosing the five; number of profiles, tweaking of the original amp, sound, feel, effects, price and so on. In the end it’s my own experience from the packs that counts, how fun was it to play? How inspirational were the tones?

So thanks again for the year that has passed, hope you’ll keep following Have Guitar for 2020 as well! For 2020 I’m planning on doing even more varied videos and I would to do some more practicing and recording of songs. If I will have the time for that, time will tell. I’ve also been thinking on doing some album reviews – starting on the Have Guitar Facebook page but maybe and just maybe that could be something to do in video format as well? We’ll see…

Wishing you all a fantastic 2020 and again thanks for the subs, the views and your comments!

KSR Juno by ReampZone (Kemper profiles demo)

Rig Showcase by Have Guitar!

I hope you had a great new years eve – this video is the first one of 2020 and well, I just thought it would be nice to publish one of the first day of the new year! Another thing that is nice – it’s a new pack from ReampZone, yay! Only direct profiles so far but no doubt this will be updated with studio profiles during the coming months.

The KSR webpage doesn’t really more than “Dual channel, 100W or 50W, configurable gain & response guitar amplifier.” about this amp. But considering it’s price, you probably know what you want if you buy one. Anyways, they have some demo videos of the real deal at their webpage so check out the link below if you wanna have a look and listen to it!

Also coming tomorrow – my top five picks of Kemper profile packs that I have demoed during 2019. And that’s it for this description! I hope you like the demo and if you do feel free to support Have Guitar with your subscription! And new fresh 2020-Thanks to all You who do sub!!

Triple Crown by ToneJunkie (Kemper profiles demo)

Rig Showcase by Have Guitar!

Time for a dive into that never-ending stream of Kemper profile packs from ToneJunkie – the Triple Crown! So, this pack recreates the sound from a Mesa Boogie Triple Crown… what’s up with not changing the packs name to something like Fripple Clown by the way?

Mesa Boogie describes this amp as capable of “bubbly, sparkling clean sounds”, “amazingly tight and aggressive wall of Rock Crunch” and “our most vocal, harmonically rich and gain-laden high-gain channels ever”. Sounds good, eh? To make it really versatile you can also use the BIAS switch to change between different tubes in the amp.

ToneJunkie’s profile pack comes with profiles done with all three different tube settings; 6L6, EL34 and 6V6. And the result is described as “…the most versatile pack we have every created. American Cleans, Tweedy Mids, Tight Drive, Crunch and over the top saturation…” And I agree! This pack almost have it all and you will find some profiles that are more high gain than we’re used seeing from ToneJunkie. It is a great pack indeed!

Hope you like this demo! A subscription is welcome if you wanna support Have Guitar! A triple Thanks to You who already do!!
