WZRD Pack by Selah Sounds (Kemper profiles demo)

WZRD Pack by Selah Sounds (Kemper profiles demo)

It’s been a long while since I featured any profiles from Selah Sounds but this is their WZRD Pack for the Kemper Profiling Amp! These profiles seeks to recreate the sound of a Wizard Wizard Modern Classic II amplifier.

The Wizard amps are handmade in Canada and used by artists like Billy Gibbons (ZZ Top) and Lynyrd Skynyrd. According to Selah Sound this is amp reminds about a Marshall but “more percussive than compressed”. The amp features two channel, one is clean and the other one is of course lead/gain. The tone of these profiles are organic and warm, very nice to play to put it simply!

Read more about Wizard amps at the link below or if you fancy the profiles; follow the link to Selah Sounds webshop.

Yngwie Malmsteen Overdrive by Fender (pedal review/demo)

Yngwie Malmsteen Overdrive by Fender (pedal review/demo)

This video is a review / demo of the Fender Yngwie Malmsteen overdrived pedal. I suppose everyone knows who Yngwie is, a guitarist who was part of creating what became called “neoclassic metal” and he has had a huge influence on guitar players all over the world. So… this is his signature overdrive pedal!

Now I say it in the video and I’ll repeat it here; don’t expect me playing anything like Yngwie in this video! I’m not that kind of guitarist and frankly I don’t wanna be (said without bashing the man himself in any way!).

As for the pedal it-self – it has true bypass, metal casing, can be run with a 9-volt-battery or external power supply. It has only two controls – volume and gain. I know some people consider this the best overdrive out there, everyones taste is different! Me, I like it, but it is not my favourite overdrive pedal. Let me know in the comments what You think about it!!

Marshall Valvestate 8100 by ReampZone (Kemper profiles demo)

This is a demo of the Marshall Valvestate 8100 Kemper profile pack from ReampZone! It is… solid state! Some people dislike that, some people love it. Who are you?

So this pack is said to be perfect for death metal and it’s a nest of angry tones! I’m no DM-guitarist but never the less I had good fun doing this demo. There are some clean and close to clean profiles here but it is mainly about nasty evilness of course. Not sure my playing gives this pack the justice it deserves, but hey, I do what I can right?!

The pack comes with both Studio and Direct profiles and a good variety in the tones. Some profiles are boosted with some great pedals as well. If you like it, follow the link below and buy it!

Thanks for watching, hope you’ll like the video… A Big Thank You goes out to my subscribers!

Unchained by Live Ready Sound (Kemper profiles demo)

Time for a closeup demo of the Unchained Kemper profile pack from Live Ready Sound! These profiles recreates the sound from a Metropoulos DVL-1 amp head and in my ears, this is the way it should sound!!

The Metropoulos DVL-1 is in fact the signature model of William DuVall (Alice in Chains) and the vision was to “build the ultimate plexi-style 100-watt amplifier with maximum flexibility and functionality and zero compromise in components, signal purity, and tone.”. The amplifier features four modes :

’65 Mode – “maximum R&B” tones of 1965-era Pete Townshend up to the full-throated JTM-45 growl of AC/DC’s Angus Young
’66 Mode – heavier blues-rock tones of Cream and The Jimi Hendrix Experience
’68 Mode – inspired by the 1968 Marshall plexi amp used by Edward Van Halen
Mod Mode – Think Metallica or Alice in Chains. Mod Mode offers maximum heaviness but with a clarity, musicality, and harmonic richness

The descriptions above directly qouted from Metropoulus webpage for this amp. Link provided below if you wanna check out more information about this fantastic amp!

Hope you liked this demo, buy the pack if you wanna support Live Ready Sound – subscribe to my channel if you wanna support me! Thanks to all the subscribers, you’re the best!

S-Gear 2 by Scuffham – All the presets (Part 4: The Jackal)

This is a five part video series where I demonstrate all the presets that comes with Scuffham S-Gear 2, so if you want a thorough overview of this VST plugin this might be it. As there are five different amps with in S-Gear 2 I have splitt this into five different videos, that will be release over a five week period (mainly because I don’t wanna clutter up my channels video feed!).

As a general overview of S-Gear 2: it’s a software that can be run as standalone or as a plugin in your DAW (digital audio workstation). S-Gear comes with five different amps, speaker cabinetts, tuner and effects (you can also use 3rd part cabs/IR’s). Feel free to have a look at my review video for more information about S-Gear 2 (link provided below). If you want to try it out, there’s a 10 day full featured trial available.

In this video the focus is on the amp named The Jackal – which should be based on a Soldano SLO 100. It’s capable of high gain sounds but also sounds great clean. It’s practically a modern high gain design that can cover any style from clean country twang to high gain rock and metal.

Not sure if this is of interest but a note on the guitars used for these videos. The presets are not ordered by the amps so I just picked a guitar and recorded 10 presets, then I switched to another guitar and played another 10 presets and so on. So what guitar is used for which preset is kinda random! The way I recorded them is just hooking them up directly to my soundcard (Focusrite Scarlett 6i6 2nd Gen) and then recorded some noodling in Reaper. Nothing added before or after, it is just as they come.

So, thanks for watching Have Guitar! If you wanna support me – subscribe! A big fat Thank You to all of you who already do, so very much appreciated!!

Feel free to have a look at my review video for more information about S-Gear 2 (link provided below). If you want to try it out, there’s a 10 day full featured trial available.

In this video the focus is on the amp named The Wayfarer. None of the amps in S-Gear 2 are based on nay specific amp but The Wayfarer should be Mesa Boogie like, maybe like a MKIV and/or a high gain Fender amp. “Classic american” is what the manual has to say about it. It features 3 channels, many tone shaping switches, a graphic EQ that is placed between the preamp and the power amp. The three channels are as follows…

Lead I – Classic hot-rodded Fender, with rich overdrive sounds.
Lead II – can do very high gain, higher intensity than Lead I with a slightly more aggressive voicing.
Lead Drive: adjust the gain with additional gain stages, careful balancing is key for tight overdrive sounds.

Not sure if this is of interest but a note on the guitars used for these videos. The presets are not ordered by the amps so I just picked a guitar and recorded 10 presets, then I switched to another guitar and played another 10 presets and so on. In this video the focus is on the amp named The Duke, based on amps like Dumble ODS and Fender Super Reverb. It’s a medium gain amp, very dynamic and touch sensitive. It is also the amp that has the most presets included; 43 of them.

Not sure if this is of interest but a note on the guitars used for these videos. In this video the focus is on the amp named Custom ’57. It’s the latest addition to S-Gear 2 and is very much like a Fender Tweed Deluxe from the late 50’s. Simple controls – volume, bright, bass and level. You have some additional option in the power amp section (presence, hi-cut and sag) to which the Custom ’57 is very sensitive. This is also the amp within S-Gear with the fewest presets available, so the other videos will be longer!

Not sure if this is of interest but a note on the guitars used for these videos. Top 5 2019 Kemper profile packs! (Kemper profiles demo)

Top 5 by Have Guitar!

Another year passed and here is my top 5 list of the packs that I have demoed during 2019! It was not an easy task to pick out only 5 of the 40 something packs that I have had the pleasure of testing. It’s a dirty job but someones gotta do it! I have taken all sorts of things into consideration when chosing the five; number of profiles, tweaking of the original amp, sound, feel, effects, price and so on. In the end it’s my own experience from the packs that counts, how fun was it to play? How inspirational were the tones?

So thanks again for the year that has passed, hope you’ll keep following Have Guitar for 2020 as well! For 2020 I’m planning on doing even more varied videos and I would to do some more practicing and recording of songs. If I will have the time for that, time will tell. I’ve also been thinking on doing some album reviews – starting on the Have Guitar Facebook page but maybe and just maybe that could be something to do in video format as well? We’ll see…

Wishing you all a fantastic 2020 and again thanks for the subs, the views and your comments!

KSR Juno by ReampZone (Kemper profiles demo)

Rig Showcase by Have Guitar!

I hope you had a great new years eve – this video is the first one of 2020 and well, I just thought it would be nice to publish one of the first day of the new year! Another thing that is nice – it’s a new pack from ReampZone, yay! Only direct profiles so far but no doubt this will be updated with studio profiles during the coming months.

The KSR webpage doesn’t really more than “Dual channel, 100W or 50W, configurable gain & response guitar amplifier.” about this amp. But considering it’s price, you probably know what you want if you buy one. Anyways, they have some demo videos of the real deal at their webpage so check out the link below if you wanna have a look and listen to it!

Also coming tomorrow – my top five picks of Kemper profile packs that I have demoed during 2019. And that’s it for this description! I hope you like the demo and if you do feel free to support Have Guitar with your subscription! And new fresh 2020-Thanks to all You who do sub!!
