Golden Plexi by Tone City Audio (Guitar pedal review, test, sound demos)

Pedal Frenzy by Have Guitar!

A golden small metal box that brings out the sound from a Marshall Plexi amp, is that possible? With ToneCity Audio’s Golden Plexi it is and that is the subject for this video! It is small, it is cheap and it can make your tones scream like a pig on fire. Well… actually it will sound better than that… I never lit a pig on fire but I do imagine this sounds better…

I must just say this, I kinda ran into a problem when I was trying out the pedal. It sounded fantastic when I used it with a clean tone but as soon as I switched to a profile with some gain it immediately became too much. Too fat, too compressed and just too much in general! I guess I had not done my homework properly on this pedal, seems to be intended to be plugged in to the clean channel of an amplifier.

As I usually use the same guitar for the whole video when it comes to effetc pedals, due to the above fact I used different guitars with different clean profiles instead. You know, trying to create a video with more overview perspective so to speak.

This demo/review is done with a Kemper Profiling Amp, with the stomp box plugged in to the front of the Kemper. The Kemper sounds and reacts very much like a classic (or modern!) tube amp and it takes pedals just a real amp. Just wanna make that clear!

And there we are! I hope you like the video – comments, both positive and negative are welcome – I’m always looking for opinions to make my videos better. Wanna support me? Subscribe to Have Guitar! Kemper Rig Showcase by Have Guitar

Welcome to yet another Rig Showcase from Have Guitar! I’m happy to bring you a demo of a fine Kemper profile pack from Tone Junkie – ACE 15HW.

This pack trying to recreate the sound from a VOX AC15 amplifier (kill me if I’m wrong on that!) and this pack gives you 44 Studio profiles for your KPA. As I say in the video, ToneJunkie seems to deliver every time… and this is no exception as I hope to prove with this demo video. Don’t expect metal but there are some gain to be had together with a sweet tone and very good variation throughout the profiles.

Kemper Rig Showcase: Live Ready Sound’s – 6160 Platinum Modded pack

Have Guitar is franticaly excited to present a new Kemper Rig Showcase – Live Ready Sound’s 6160 Platinum Modded pack! Live Ready Sounds offers, as allways, a big number of profiles with many sonic variations. If you can’t find a sound you like in this pack I have no idea where you should look elsewhere… These profiles recreates the sound of a Peavey 5150 Block Letter Head Platinum Modded by Voodoo Amps and they do it in style!

The Peavey 5150 was the signature model for Eddie Van Halen, til he parted ways with Peavey so nowadays this model is called Peavey 6505. This amp is well known for its high gain capabilities but it does not only handle metal but softer blues and rock tones as well. For more details, see the wikipedia-link further down.

Hope you liked the video! If you do please subscribe to Have Guitar and feel free to like, comment and share the video… if you don’t well… why not? Thanks for all the new sub’s – over 400 now, that is just amazing. So thanks again to all new and old subscribers for the support!!!

Kemper Rig Showcase: ReampZones Orange AD140

One year and one day since the first Kemper Rig Showcase appeared at Have Guitar! – let’s throw in a bonus Sunday video on that! This is ReampZone’s Orange AD140 – a very capable rig pack that covers what you need from clean to crunch sounds. It’s more in the style of rock, blues and similar and to add to that it’s modded as well, making it more unique than anything else…

The AD140 is no longer in stock, I think they stopped the production in 2006 (correct me if I’m wrong!) so if you want a beast like this you need to search for a used one. Or you could get a Kemper Profiling Amp and buy this pack.

Hope you liked the video! If so please support Have Guitars effort to bring fun guitar-related videos to quaff boredom by subscribing to the channel. A big thanks as always to all of you already subscribing, much appriciated!
