Budda Superdrive 80 by Gold Lion Studio (Kemper profiles demo)

Rig Showcase by Have Guitar

Here’s another Rig Showcase and in this video I’ll take a closer look at Gold Lion Studio’s Budda Superdrive 80! It’s a fine pack of Kemper profiles, the tone and the sustain of these profiles just rocks! So this video will go out on a non-scheduled time (that is not a Thursday) dur to the fact below – please read it!

This pack contains both direct and merged profiles, the total number is 58 – and the pack IS on sale right now! If you like what you hear please do support GLS by buying this pack! Right now Maxime Lajoie, the man behind Gold Lion Studio, got some bad news that his mother has been diagnosed with a terminal illness… any money he gets in will go directly to enable him to take a break and spend his limited time with his mother. ToneJunkie has already contributed by giving a days sale to Maxime and I will persoanlly buy a couple of packs to support him. Be a fellow human and do the same.

And that’s it! Hope you liked the video – comments and likes are welcome but of course a subscription beats them both! And a Very Big Thank You to y’all who subscribes!!

Tony Iommi (TI) Boost by Laney Black Country Customs (pedal test)

Pedal Frenzy by Have Guitar!

Here’s a pedal I have been looking forward to trying out, the Laney Black Country Customs TI Boost – where TI stand for Tony Iommi from Black Sabbath! So, this is a not a regular dist box but rather what is called a clean boost. It’s kinda a replica of what Iommi used in the early days of Sabbath but with some extra controls for gain, treble and base.

Just wanna say that I have used a slightly different approach in how I recorded this video… very much just improvising and noodling around as I try different settings on the pedal, I do hope it comes out OK. The editing of this video was cursed somehow… whatever could go wrong, went wrong! To a degree where I almost went ahead re-recorded it all over again. Just saying. Any comments – especially constructive critisim – is very welcome, I’m still experimenting on how to provide a nice overview of a pedal.

Anyways, I do hope you’ll like the video! And as in every video’s description I would like to say Thanks to you who subscribe, your support is awesome!

A note about the gain rating below; on the Kemper Profiling Amp each profile has a gain rating from 0 to 10. So Clean to Low gain = 0 – 3, Crunch = 4 – 6 and Hi gain = 7 – 10.

ToneCrate May 2019 – Jack Daniels & Scott Carstairs (Kemper profiles demo)
Rig Showcase by Have Guitar

Well, this time I am not that late with the months pack from ToneCrate – so here’s the pack of May 2019! This time around there are two featured guitarists – Jack Daniels from War of Ages and Scott Carstairs from Fallujah. I am not that familiar with the bands but the pack contains more Kemper profiles and they are all good so thanks to ToneCrate and these guys for bringing this out to us!

The pack contains everything from clean to full out metal style profiles, quite well balanced I should say. I have tried to show that in this video and well, hope I succeeded in that. ToneCrate offers their packs as a subscription service but you can buy the packs one off at their website as well. Links to both ToneCrate and the guitarists bands are provided below, do check them out!

Thanks for watching Have Guitar, hope you liked the video! I’m very grateful for the subscriptions – thank you to each and everyone who supports my efforts by subscribing!!

ToneCrate April 2019 Dean Lamp (Kemper profiles demo)

Rig Showcase by Have Guitar

So as I say in the video – I’m really late with this one! This is ToneCrate’s April 2019 pack, and the May pack is already out! Crazy, so this’ll have to the second “Valpurgis bonus video”!!

ToneCrate is a subscription service where you will get a new pack of Kemper profiles each month, so far there has been a featured artist each month and for April 2019 it’s Dean Lamb from Archspire. You don’t have to subscribe as there’s an option to buy individual packs too.

And there we go – hope you’ll like this demo video! A very Big Thank You to all you who subscribe to Have Guitar, that support is fantastic!

Randall Satan (120w) by ReampZone (Kemper profiles demo)

Rig Showcase by Have Guitar

It’s been awhile since I featured a profile pack from ReampZone so here’s the Randall Satan (120w) Kemper profile pack! The pack is packed (pun intended!) with fat metal tones but flexible enough for other styles as well. Contains both direct and studio profiles, some boosted with stomps like the Fortin 33 for an extra tight nice boost!

The Randall Satan is the signature amp of Ola Englund, comes in two variants (120 and 50 W). The 120W version comes with 2 channels and of course loaded with features… for more details, check the link to Randall Amplification provided below.

I hope I made this sweet pack from ReampZone justice and that you’ll like this demo. Feel free to support Have Guitar by a subscription! A bag of “thank yous” is handed out to you who subsscribe as always… you make it worthwhile to keep it up!

ToneCrate December 2018 Jamie King Pack (Kemper profiles demo)

ToneCrate December 2018 Jamie King Pack (Kemper profiles demo)
Rig Showcase by Have Guitar

Apparently the bonus Sundays continues! This is the December 2018 pack from ToneCrate and it’s a (mostly) heavy pack created together with the guitarist Jamie King! The pack contains 25 Kemper profiles all in all, most of them are high gain stuff but there are also a couple of bass profiles and some clear to crunch profiles here.

In my ears this is a great sounding pack that contains profiles from various amps like Marshall JCM800 & 900, Peavey 5150, Ampeg SVT and more.

ToneCrate is a subscription service where you will get a new profile pack for your Kemper every month and every month a new artist is featured. Pretty much like the “LootCrates” where you get a box sent home with different trinkets every month. It’s not that expensive (and if you pay for a year it’ll be cheaper) so go have a look at ToneCrates webpage for more information. Just wanna add I didn’t find much info on Kings bands when I Googled them, so I don’t know if my search-fu is bad perhaps…

VX the Kraken by Official Victory Kemper Profiles (Kemper profiles demo)

VX the Kraken by Official Victory Kemper Profiles (Kemper profiles demo)
Rig Showcase by Have Guitar

So here it is – the last Sunday Special Rig Showcase of the official Victory Kemper profiles Rig Showcase! And last out is the heaviest of these official packs from Victory amps – VX the Kraken! The profiles are created by Rabea Massaad, if you haven’t heard of him check him out on Youtube – a great guitarist well worth following! He was also involved in designing the original amp.

VX the Kraken is small 50 watts amp with two channels; Gain I is classic British-inspired rhythm tones and Gain II is tight, aggressive American high-gain grind. The profiles contains clean to quite heavy sounds (though I must say I have heard harder and heavier sounds from the Kraken than what these profiles brings… possibly they can be tweaked more toward that sound if that is what you are looking for).

And there we have it! I do hope you liked this demo & thanks for watching Have Guitar! Support my channel by subscription – it’ll be much appreciated! To all old and new subscribers – Thank You, your support keeps me motivated!

The Gentleman (MESHUGGAH amp) by Live Ready Sound (Kemper profiles demo)

The Gentleman (MESHUGGAH amp) by Live Ready Sound (Kemper profiles demo)
Rig Showcase by Have Guitar

Here’s a “bonus” Rig Showcase – Live Ready Sounds The Gentleman! Could it be that LRS is the first profiler to do the Fortin Meshuggah Signature amplifier? I think so! And it’s not only expensive (3333.33 USD!) it is also limited to 100 amps made. Ain’t that crazy?!

So I got a hands on tryout of the first release from LRS for this pack and what can I say? Love it. I have no idea how the profiles stands against the original amp as I’m likely to never even be in the same room as one, but the profiles have a great tone – it’s brutal, it’s metal, they djent – and much more! As I’m writing this the pack has not gone on sale yet but it should any day now.

Thanks for spending your time with Have Guitar, much appreciated! If you liked the video – feel free to subscribe to my channel, your support is needed! A Big Thanks goes out to all you subscribers – you rock!

God of War by Live Ready Sound (Kemper profiles demo)

God of War by Live Ready Sound (KRS Ares 50)
Rig Showcase by Have Guitar!

Time for a closer look at the God of War pack from Live Ready Sound. This is a pack that is based on a KRS Ares 50 amplifier and it brings a long 95 Kemper profiles (8 direct profiles), of course ranging from clear to gain dripping sounds. I’m pretty sure the pack will grow over time and there will surely be at least a couple more updates from Live Ready Sound.

The KRS Ares 50 seems to be a really versatile amp with lots of options through voice switching and much more. If you are interested take a look at the detailed description provided by KRS on their website. The link is of found further down in this description.

As usual I do hope you enjoyed the video! Feel free to support Have Guitar by subscribing to the channel – it’s free for you and gives me the support I need. To all you who sub – Thanks, couldn’t do it without You!

Vintage Overdrive by Harley Benton (Thomann) Pedal Test

Vintage Overdrive by Harley Benton (Thomann) Pedal Test
Pedal Frenzy by Have Guitar!

Wow, it’s been way too long since I did a Pedal Frenzy (review) here! So this feature is now back AND in a revamped presentation. I do think this format is better, as it’ll show you in real time exactly what I’m doing with the pedals settings… and yeah, it is a long video and you might or might not like that. I however got tired of some pedal videos where you hardly get to hear the pedal so I set this up with two very different guitars and three different “amps” (Kemper profiles!); Fender Bassman, Revv 120 & the mighty PRS Archon. And I’ve also included an index so you can jump around as you please. In the video that is but sure if you wanna jump around whilst watching this video, go ahead!

I’ve had my eyes on the Harley Benton Vintage Overdrive for quite some time now, actually I heard a lot of good talk about it, from other guitarists. Gotta say after I had a go with it, I was pleasantly pleased with its performance. It’s cheap, it’s green and it’s a Tube Screamer clone – also well built for that sake! In my ears this low budget stomp box sounded much better than one might expect and well… I guess you just have to watch the video to hear it for yourself.
