ToneCrate December 2018 Jamie King Pack (Kemper profiles demo)

ToneCrate December 2018 Jamie King Pack (Kemper profiles demo)
Rig Showcase by Have Guitar

Apparently the bonus Sundays continues! This is the December 2018 pack from ToneCrate and it’s a (mostly) heavy pack created together with the guitarist Jamie King! The pack contains 25 Kemper profiles all in all, most of them are high gain stuff but there are also a couple of bass profiles and some clear to crunch profiles here.

In my ears this is a great sounding pack that contains profiles from various amps like Marshall JCM800 & 900, Peavey 5150, Ampeg SVT and more.

ToneCrate is a subscription service where you will get a new profile pack for your Kemper every month and every month a new artist is featured. Pretty much like the “LootCrates” where you get a box sent home with different trinkets every month. It’s not that expensive (and if you pay for a year it’ll be cheaper) so go have a look at ToneCrates webpage for more information. Just wanna add I didn’t find much info on Kings bands when I Googled them, so I don’t know if my search-fu is bad perhaps…

VX the Kraken by Official Victory Kemper Profiles (Kemper profiles demo)
Rig Showcase by Have Guitar

So here it is – the last Sunday Special Rig Showcase of the official Victory Kemper profiles Rig Showcase! And last out is the heaviest of these official packs from Victory amps – VX the Kraken! The profiles are created by Rabea Massaad, if you haven’t heard of him check him out on Youtube – a great guitarist well worth following! He was also involved in designing the original amp.

VX the Kraken is small 50 watts amp with two channels; Gain I is classic British-inspired rhythm tones and Gain II is tight, aggressive American high-gain grind. The profiles contains clean to quite heavy sounds (though I must say I have heard harder and heavier sounds from the Kraken than what these profiles brings… possibly they can be tweaked more toward that sound if that is what you are looking for).

And there we have it! I do hope you liked this demo & thanks for watching Have Guitar! Support my channel by subscription – it’ll be much appreciated! To all old and new subscribers – Thank You, your support keeps me motivated!

The Gentleman (MESHUGGAH amp) by Live Ready Sound (Kemper profiles demo)

The Gentleman (MESHUGGAH amp) by Live Ready Sound (Kemper profiles demo)
Rig Showcase by Have Guitar

Here’s a “bonus” Rig Showcase – Live Ready Sounds The Gentleman! Could it be that LRS is the first profiler to do the Fortin Meshuggah Signature amplifier? I think so! And it’s not only expensive (3333.33 USD!) it is also limited to 100 amps made. Ain’t that crazy?!

So I got a hands on tryout of the first release from LRS for this pack and what can I say? Love it. I have no idea how the profiles stands against the original amp as I’m likely to never even be in the same room as one, but the profiles have a great tone – it’s brutal, it’s metal, they djent – and much more! As I’m writing this the pack has not gone on sale yet but it should any day now.

Thanks for spending your time with Have Guitar, much appreciated! If you liked the video – feel free to subscribe to my channel, your support is needed! A Big Thanks goes out to all you subscribers – you rock!

God of War by Live Ready Sound (Kemper profiles demo)

God of War by Live Ready Sound (KRS Ares 50)
Rig Showcase by Have Guitar!

Time for a closer look at the God of War pack from Live Ready Sound. This is a pack that is based on a KRS Ares 50 amplifier and it brings a long 95 Kemper profiles (8 direct profiles), of course ranging from clear to gain dripping sounds. I’m pretty sure the pack will grow over time and there will surely be at least a couple more updates from Live Ready Sound.

The KRS Ares 50 seems to be a really versatile amp with lots of options through voice switching and much more. If you are interested take a look at the detailed description provided by KRS on their website. The link is of found further down in this description.

As usual I do hope you enjoyed the video! Feel free to support Have Guitar by subscribing to the channel – it’s free for you and gives me the support I need. To all you who sub – Thanks, couldn’t do it without You!

Vintage Overdrive by Harley Benton (Thomann) Pedal Test

Vintage Overdrive by Harley Benton (Thomann) Pedal Test
Pedal Frenzy by Have Guitar!

Wow, it’s been way too long since I did a Pedal Frenzy (review) here! So this feature is now back AND in a revamped presentation. I do think this format is better, as it’ll show you in real time exactly what I’m doing with the pedals settings… and yeah, it is a long video and you might or might not like that. I however got tired of some pedal videos where you hardly get to hear the pedal so I set this up with two very different guitars and three different “amps” (Kemper profiles!); Fender Bassman, Revv 120 & the mighty PRS Archon. And I’ve also included an index so you can jump around as you please. In the video that is but sure if you wanna jump around whilst watching this video, go ahead!

I’ve had my eyes on the Harley Benton Vintage Overdrive for quite some time now, actually I heard a lot of good talk about it, from other guitarists. Gotta say after I had a go with it, I was pleasantly pleased with its performance. It’s cheap, it’s green and it’s a Tube Screamer clone – also well built for that sake! In my ears this low budget stomp box sounded much better than one might expect and well… I guess you just have to watch the video to hear it for yourself.

Gibson Explorer Vampire Blood Moon – Review & Test

Gibson Explorer Vampire Blood Moon – Review & Test
A review by Have Guitar!

They mostly come out at night… mostly… So the Gibson Explorer Vampire Blood Moon is obviously horror inspired, I guess it’s from all those teenage vampire flings that were so popular some years back. This model came out in 2011 and it was a limited run of 400 Blood Moons. Well, the name and the theme of this Explorer might put you off but the guitar itself is really good, plays well and those active Gibson pickups and sounds good with most styles… clean is no problem, add some gain and it responds well all the way up to brutal metal style sounds.

Allright so the Vampire Blood Moon has some features not so common for a stock Gibson Explorer… like the Gibson GEM active pickups and the Schaller Floyd Rose locking system that stands out. And then, as said, the theme of the guitar. Cough, cough…

So for this review I’ve used a slightly different technique than in my previous review videos. Rather than having me reading out all the specifications of the guitar, I’ve included the spec’s together with closeup clips of the Blood Moon during the sound examples. I really think that creates a better flow in the video and if you wanna read all the spec’s of the guitar take a visit at the link provided further down. Feel free to let me know in the comments if you like this new style!

Also note the sound demos are created playing through a Kemper Profiling Amp, unless otherwise stated it’s lined recordings (Kemper-SPDIF-Focusrite Saffire 6i6-Reaper) but I have included some examples described as “In the room” and that means the sound is recorded by microphones in the room, which pretty much sounds like what I am hearing while recording.

Another Kemper Rig Showcase and here’s a demo of the OR100 profiles pack from Mattfig! The OR100? Yep, that is the Orange OR100 that these profiles recreates the sound of…

So, according to Orange themselves the OR100 has a classic vibe with “vintage tones and look”. It has one clean channel and a dirty channel with three gain stages. If you wanna read up on more details, see the link to Orange OR100 further down.

Hope you liked this video & thanks for watching Have Guitars Rig Showcase! If you liked it a sub will be appriciated… to all you allready subscribing, Thank You!!
