Tony Iommi (TI) Boost by Laney Black Country Customs (pedal test)

Pedal Frenzy by Have Guitar!

Here’s a pedal I have been looking forward to trying out, the Laney Black Country Customs TI Boost – where TI stand for Tony Iommi from Black Sabbath! So, this is a not a regular dist box but rather what is called a clean boost. It’s kinda a replica of what Iommi used in the early days of Sabbath but with some extra controls for gain, treble and base.

Just wanna say that I have used a slightly different approach in how I recorded this video… very much just improvising and noodling around as I try different settings on the pedal, I do hope it comes out OK. The editing of this video was cursed somehow… whatever could go wrong, went wrong! To a degree where I almost went ahead re-recorded it all over again. Just saying. Any comments – especially constructive critisim – is very welcome, I’m still experimenting on how to provide a nice overview of a pedal.

Anyways, I do hope you’ll like the video! And as in every video’s description I would like to say Thanks to you who subscribe, your support is awesome!

A note about the gain rating below; on the Kemper Profiling Amp each profile has a gain rating from 0 to 10. So Clean to Low gain = 0 – 3, Crunch = 4 – 6 and Hi gain = 7 – 10.

Index:
02:55 – TMS Profiles TREK (MB TripRec), gain 0/10. Note: the sound here is taken from the room microphones, not lined signal.
06:14 – ToneJunkie 3p Triple Agent (3P Dial Citizen), gain 0/10. Lead to a Backing track.
06:48 – Live Ready Sound Fried Chicken (Fman BE100), gain 5/10.
11:15 – Lead to a backing track.
12:06 – Deadlight Studio Engl Extreme Aggression (Engl E636), gain 9/10.
13:40 – ReampZone Diezel Einstein 100, gain 6/10.
17:09 – Lead to a backing track.
17:51 – Some kinda of conclusion!

Dark Matter by TC Electronics (Distortion pedal test / review)

Dark Matter by TC Electronics (Distortion pedal test / review)
Pedal Frenzy by Have Guitar

Here’s another Pedal Frenzy where I take a look at TC Electronics Dark Matter, a distortion pedal for electric guitar. So, I didn’t really know much about this stomp when I ordered it from Thomann. I know the brand TC Electronics, since the mid 80’s but back then my impression was that it was a high-end quite expensive brand. Or was it me being poorer back then? I don’t really know but this pedal is not expensive!

I can say already that I was pleased by the sounds this pedal can pull off, the sound certainly is not cheap. So in this video I test it out with a bunch different Kemper profiles, trying to cover a wide range of amp styles and sounds to see how the Dark Matter affects the sound.

Yeah, it’s an epic video – considering it’s lenght! Is that a bad thing? I don’t know, I just prefer content over 2 minute videos. But… for your pleasure I have put in an index to the video below so you can jump to the part you wanna see.

Index:
02:09 – Live Ready Sound Tweed profile, low gain to crunch (gain 2/10)
06:33 – ReamZone Framus Dragon profile, clean sound with some delay (gain 0/10)
11:59 – BM Profiles Friedman BE 100 profile, quite high gain (gain 6/10)
16:04 – Pete’s Profiles Wizard profile, crunch sound (gain 3/10)
20:09 – ToneJunkie Matchless profile, clean sound (gain 0/10)
25:37 – Conclusion along with some rambling

Hey! I hope liked this video and if so please do subscribe! Doesn’t cost you a dime but gives me the support I need to carry on this craziness… As always a Very Big Thanks to all you who do sub – it’s just fantastic!

TMS RKR30 by TMS Profiles (Kemper profiles demo)

Rig Showcase by Have Guitar

Here’s a video that features TMS Profiles new Kemper profile pack – RKR30 – recreating the sound of an Orange Rocker 30 head. This pack contain 40 Merged profiles that according to my opinion really captures that Orange sound – fat and creamy just like you should like it! And… I’ll throw in this video as a “bonus” as it’s also a giveaway! Watch the video to see how to enter – a very Big Thank You to TMS Profiles for letting me do this giveaway.

Deadline for the giveaway:
April 27th 2019, 23:59

Throwing in a footnote here that this is the first video that I have created/edited in Davinci Resolve, a video editing software that is available for free in a light version. It should not make any difference for you as a viewer and the reason for me changing software is that I am tired of seeing the Magix Movie Studio Platinum series not improving with the new versions. And also that I don’t wanna pay for those not so good new versions…

Thanks for watching Have Guitar and the support from you who subscribe is something which I am very grateful for! If you wanna support my little independent channel do subscribe, it’s free! 😉

SOLO 100 by Borg Factory Profiles + Giveaway (Kemper profiles demo)

Rig Showcase by Have Guitar

Here’s a new Rig Showcase and today I’m proud to present/demo a new profiler: Borg Factory Profiles! Nice? Ubernice! In this video I’ll demo their SOLO 100 Kemper profile pack – a pack that recreates the sound of a Soldana SLO 100. And it does it well too…

In my opinion this is another of those fine packs that kinda shows of what the Kemper is capable of, good tones all around with fine energy and a creamy and powerful tone – with any of the four guitars that I tested it with. For more information on this pack follow the link below! Same goes for the amp that this pack is created from…

Giveaway: one lucky winner will get this pack! Send in an email to admin *at* haveguitar.com with the topic “Borg SOLO 100” and you are in! Easy as it seems! Deadline for this giveaway: 28th of March 2019, 23:59.

V90 Mesa MK V by TMS Profiles + Giveaway! (Kemper profiles demo)

Rig Showcase and Giveaway by Have Guitar!

Time for another rig showcase and this time it’s the brand new profile pack from TMS Profiles – V90 Mesa MK V! Now this was a pleasure to try out, loads and loads of great sound profiles… and the pack is cheap too! And to add to that, if you watch this video you could have a chance of winning a copy of this profile pack for free! That’s right, TMS Profiles was so kind that they let me giveaway 5 copies of this pack! Ain’t that grand?! So the instructions of getting into the giveaway comes at the end of video.

DEADLINE for this giveaway: 21st of March 2019, 23:59!
(The Winners will be presented in a video a couple of days after the DL!)

The V90 MK V pack comes loaded with 99 merged profiles for your Kemper profiling amp – some of them has effects included from the start and do believe all of them has inactivated effects included. A tip, that I also mention in the video, is to lower the Noise Gate – seems ALL the profiles has quite a high setting and lowering the NG helps to make the tone feel a bit more dynamic in my opinion.

So that is it, I do hope you like the video AND the giveaway – once again thanks to TMS profiles for being so generous!! Also, feel free to sunscribe to Have Guitar to support my channel, it will be much appreciated. And as always to all you subscribing – thanks for Your support!

Sir PT One Hundred by Live Ready Sound (Kemper profiles demo)
Rig Showcase by Have Guitar

What’s this? A new Rig Showcase of course! Here’s the Sir PT One Hundred by Live Ready Sound – a pack that recreates the sound of a Suhr PT100 amplifier. An amp said to cover both Fender as well as Marshall typ sounds. The pack has, as I write this, already 6 updates out so if you can’t find something that suits your taste here I don’t know where you should look.

The original amp is a signature amp for guitarist Peter Thorn: “The Suhr PT100 Signature Edition features a 100 watt, three-channel tube amplifier head loaded with a custom “Plexi-style” output transformer, four EL-34 power tubes and six 12AX7 preamp tubes, a solid-state series/parallel effects loop, 4-button programmable footswitch.” Quote from Suhr’s information – for more take a look at Suhr’s webpage!

I wanna Thank Live Ready Sound for letting me do this Rig Showcase, had a good time time playing these sweet profiles. As I recorded I saved the profiles with the effects that I added and these has been sent back to LRS, who might add them to the official profile pack.

Thanks for watching Have Guitar – why don’t you go ahead and subscribe? The support will be much appreciated! If you already subscribe – Thanks!!!

Rig Showcase by Have Guitar

It’s another Rig Showcase and this one is something I have been looking forward to do: Gold Lion Studios Sovtek Tube Midget 50H Ultimate Pack! Eventhough I have never owned one or even played one I’ve had a thing for the Sovtek amps. Don’t ask me why, but they have always seemed to be very cool in some way. Just the fact that they’re made in Russia makes them kinda unique…

So, if I have understood this correctly this model loosely based on a Marshall JCM800 and that it has a lot more gain than the other Sovtek 50 watter. All picked up from Google so don’t take my word for it. But this is a nice pack with its own character, if you like it get it!

And thanks for watching Have Guitar! Feel free to hit that subscribe button to support me… For all my subscribers I can only say Thank You!!

New Reverbs for the Kemper Profiling Amp (5.7.0.14092 Public Beta)

New Reverbs for the Kemper Profiling Amp (Kemper profiles demo)
Showcase by Have Guitar

Finally here – the new reverbs for the Kemper Profiling Amps! What kinda Kemperist would I be if I didn’t make a video of this?! So the old Reverbs goes into a new cathegory called Legacy Reverbs while we in return get some new one: Echo Reverb, Natural Reverb, Easy Reverb, Spring Reverb and Cirrus Reverb. All of them with their own characteristics. There is also one more called “Space” – according to the updated manual: “The Space effect is identical to the global version of Space in the Output Section. It produces the natural reflections of a small, neutral-sounding room.” Just didn’t make much of a difference to the sound in my ears so I decided to leave that out.

All in all this is great addon to the KPA – to get to keep the old Reverb possibilities and get a bunch of new one for free! Thank you, Kemper! So if you wanna hear anything specific – check out the index below. Appologies for the somewhat fuzzy close-ups of the KPA display – I will experiment some with the new action cam to see if I can improve on that. It takes baby steps to get better…

Index:
01:46 – Spring Reverb
03:44 – Natural Reverb
05:18 – Easy Reverb
07:09 – Echo Reverb
08:15 – Cirrus Reverb
10:14 – Conclusional ramblings

Rig Showcase by Have Guitar

Here’s a rig showcase for those of you who fancy an amp that’s made for metal – it’s Deadlight Studios (former Tonehammer) PIWI Perspective! Behind that acronym hides Peavey’s Invective 120 – as Peavey themselves puts it “helping players achieve the most revered metal sounds, from woody and clean to the most extreme of high gain tones”.

I’d say you don’t have to play metal to enjoy these sweet tones / profiles but the power is right there if you need it. This pack is in my ears very well profiled by Deadlight Studios, it was a joy to play through it while I did this video! So from my side it’s both thumbs up!! If you want more info on the amp see the links below as well as a link to the profile pack at Deadlight Studios. Go get it now, if you like what you hear!

So, thanks for watching Have Guitar! If you’re up for it, why don’t you subscribe? Doesn’t cost you a dime but it gives me the support I need to keep it up… A Big Fat Frantic Thanks goes out to all you who sub’s!!!

ReVerend G 120 Experimentby Live Ready Sound (Kemper profiles demo)
Rig Showcase by Have Guitar

Let’s take a look… or rather a listen to Live Ready Sound’s The ReVerend G 120 – a profile pack for your Kemper Profiling Amp that recreates the sound from a Revv Generator 120 MKII!

The Revv Generator 120 is a 120 watts tube amp with 4 channels – clean, crunch and two variable gain channels. You can operate it at 10 or 120 watts, it has MIDI capabilities and each channel has a 3-band EQ. For more details on the actual amp see the link to Revv amps further down this description.

The profile pack from LRS so far contains 141 profiles, created with a bunch of speakers and microphones – it also contains 10 effects presets from Have Guitar, and that is what I based this Rig Showcase on. So you’ll get to hear the profiles as they come and then with my changes applied (and this FX addon is now included in the official pack). In addition the full pack also contains an additional 35 effects presets from Eltzejupp so yeah, you’ll have some fun going through this great pack!

Don’t forget to subscribe to support Have Guitar! Every sub counts… Appreciation & Thank You’s to all you subscribing – You rock!
