Turbo Tube Screamer TS9DX by Ibanez (Pedal demo/test/review – Part II)

This is part II of my review/demo of the Ibanez Turbo Tube Screamer TS9DX, I decided to splitt the video in to two parts as it would have become over 40 minutes otherwise… In this part the presets and testing the pedal on the Classic Gain channel of the Marshall DSL20HR, also more singlecoil action here!

The part of the review contains tests of all four different modes (TS9, +, Hot and Turbo) plus I go through the three controls (Gain, Level and Tone), all done on the Ultra Gain channel of the Marshall DSL20HR.

I have included both the mic’ed amp and sound from the room mic’s as I think that gives the most honest sound – they do sound slightly different but I’m not sure it could be done better (ny me!). If you want to see how I set up the mic for the cabinett see the last part, Roundup talk, where I show that with a couple of pix!

Hope you liked this video – feel free to support my channel with a subscription if you wanna see more. A first (of the year) Big Fat Thank You to all you who do subscribe!!

Turbo Tube Screamer TS9DX by Ibanez (Pedal demo/test/review – Part I)

Turbo Tube Screamer TS9DX by Ibanez (Pedal demo/test/review – Part I)

Let’s kick of the new year year with a premier! What’s new, you ask? A pedal frenzy but this time I don’t run the pedal through the Kemper but through my new tube amp – Marshall DSL20HR! Shock, surpize and hurrahs – finally!

So this is the first part of my review of the Ibanez Turbo Tube Screamer TS9DX. When I was editing the video, I decided to split it in two parts when I reached 20 minutes and had about the same amount of material left… I don’t know if that is a good idea or not but I just felt around 20 min’s are enough for one video. This first part contains tests of all four different modes (TS9, +, Hot and Turbo) plus I go through the three controls (Gain, Level and Tone).

I have included both the mic’ed amp and sound from the room mic’s as I think that gives the most honest sound – they do sound slightly different but I’m not sure it could be done better. Part II contains the presets given from Ibanez in the manual and some additional tweaking by me and in Part II I also include the Telecaster so you’ll get sound from both humbuckers and singlecoils.

Hope you liked this video – feel free to support my channel with a subscription if you wanna see more. A first (of the year) Big Fat Thank You to all you who do subscribe!!

Top 5 Kemper profile packs of 2020

Another year passed so it’s time to chose the five best packs of Kemper profiles that I have demoed here on Have Guitar! Or is that Top 6…? Kinda, as I have included a “bonus pack” that was really worth mentioning.

I say it in the video but it’s worth repeating; it is ridiculously hard to pick five pack out of the 35 or so profile pack that I have featured during 2020. All of them have had something that appeals to me in one way or another. Perhaps that’s a testimony of the quality you should expect from a commercial profile pack these days!

Well, that is it for this year, let’s wrap up 2020 and hope for a better 2021! I wish You a Happy New Year and I hope this evening will be great for You and your loved ones… See ya next year!!

Thanks for watching – hope you liked the video! If you wanna support my channel, feel free to use the subscription link provided below. A very Big Thank You goes out to all new and old subscribers, play hard!!

Merry Christmas to you all! Here’s a new video with a new Kemper profile pack from Live Ready Sound – Red Mars! As always you can expect the highest quality when it comes to LRS and this is certainly no exception!

The Red Mars profile pack recreates the sound from a Friedman JEL100 (Jake E Lee signature) head and as always profiled with a bunch of different cab’s and mic’s. I personally haven’t seen any packs of this amp so far so this might … no, it IS kinda special! Read more about the actual amplifier on the Friedman link provided further down, it’s a limited edition by the way!

The Storm by Live Ready Sound (Kemper profiles demo)

There’s a storm a-coming… in the form of a new Kemper profile pack from Live Ready Sound! These profiles recreates the sound of a Mesa Boogie Electra Dyne amplifier. As always with live ready sound you will get a load of profiles if you buy this pack!

According to Mesa Boogie the Electra Dyne is an easy to use amp in the style of the “british sound”. Read more about the actual amps features on the Mesa Boogie webpage, link provided below! As far as I can tell this amp offers pristine cleans up to really dirty gain, maybe not metal per se but well, high gain is there if you fancy it!

If you like the sound of this pack – go get it now while it’s on sale! See the link to Live Ready Sound just down below!!

By the way this is a 2-video-thursday, just as a little ‘bonus’. I am aslo planning on releasing something special on christmas day, just for the heck of it.

M AC10 by ToneJunkie (Kemper profiles demo)

Here’s a demo of ToneJunkie’s M AC10 – this is a video I recorded in August 2020, I have held on to it as a backup video in case I needed the break but as it’s about christmas time, how about two Kemper demo videos on one day?

This Kemper profile pack recreates the sound of a Morgan 10PM amplifier, which should be modern version of the VOX AC10 according to ToneJunkie. What you can expect is the normal (high) level of ToneJunkie quality, no metal but with some tweaks definitely rock to hard rock! Thumbs up on this one!

Here’s a massive profile pack for your Kemper from Live Ready Sound – SLO 100! This pack recreates the sound from a Soldano Super Lead Overdrive 100 MkII head and as said, it packs a lot of profiles. One might start to think this pack covers every possible setting of this amp with its over 250 profiles!

Hotter Than Hell by KISS (Rhythm guitar lesson)

This video is a lesson on how to play the rhythm guitars for Hotter Than Hell by KISS. The first part of the video is a “play-along” and the second part is a more detailed lesson for those of you who feels you need that.

Hotter Than Hell was recorded during August 1974, at the Village Recorder studios in Los Angeles. The release date was October 22 1974. The band was not very happy over being in Los Angeles and it didn’t get better by the fact that Paul Stanleys Gibson Firebird (as seen on the cover of the Alive! album) was stolen. Much has been said about the sound of this album… some people love it, some hate it. I personally love it!

So, I hope you’ll have some use for this lesson and thanks for watching! If you wanna support my channel – subscription link is provided below. Also feel free to join in on my Pedal giveaway to celebrate 3K sub’s! Once again, see link provided below. A Very Big Thank You goes out to all you who subscribe!!

Silver Anniversary by Live Ready Sound (Kemper profiles demo)

The Marshall Silver Jubilee series was released in 1987 to celebrate 25 years of amplification (and 50 years in business!). The Jubilee amps were nased on the JCM 800 series and features a split-channel feature where you can set tow different gain levels through the same tone stack and master control. One of the most well known artists to use the Silver Jubilee is Slash, but mostly (almost only) live and seldom on the studio recordings.
