FGN Odyssey – Boundary series – Unboxing & short demo

Unboxing by Have Guitar!

Another unboxing video!? You bet! This time it’s a guitar from a brand I have heard so much good about but never had the opportunity to try – FGN (or Fujigen) from Japan. The model is called Odyssey and comes from the Boundary series – and it’s a hardtail strat model.

In this video you’ll see the unboxing and some first time playing demos, I’m pretty sure I play even more sloppy than normal as I’m not used to this guitar. It’s quite different from my other guitars in that the neck is more U-shaped (I generally prefer C-shaped necks) and just feels like a different bird. Sure I will get used to that in due time.

Here’s the spec’s for those of you who are interested in that. A more thorough demo/review will come later, I wanna get to know the guitar good first (but I can tell you the first impression is good).

Construction: Bolt-On
Radius: 250 mm (9.85″)
Frets: 22F Medium (C.F.S)
(Circle Fretting System: Slightly curved frets are mounted so as to ensure that each string and fret intersects at right angles, minimising the contact surface. The result is accurate pitch, cleaner, longer sustain and true harmonics)
Tuners: Gotoh SD91-05M
Body: Japanese Basswood
Scale: 25.5″ (658mm)
Bridge: FGN FB-S05
Neck: Hard Maple w. Soft U-Shape
Controls: Volume, Tone, Coil Tap Mini SW, 5-Way SW

Fingerboard: Maple
Pickups: FGN BH-b, BOS-c, BOS-n – Fujigen design – Made in South Korea
Parts color: Chrome
Strings: D’Addario EXL110 (.010-.046) / Standard E
Finish: Polyester
Weight: Approx. 3.4 kg (7.5 pounds)

69 Silver Lowman by ToneJunkie (Kemper profiles demo)

Rig Showcase by Have Guitar!

Here’s another fine pack from ToneJunkie’s neverending effort to profile every amp in the world: 69 Silver Lowman! These profiles aims to recreate the sound from a 1969 Fender Bassman “drip edge”. (And if you like me don’t know what “drip edge” means; it’s a silver lining around the cabinet of the amp).

So this is obviously a vintage amplifier and according to me the Fender Bassman’s are great amps. Not if you wanna do Meshugga (laughs) but I’d say they can handle most musical styles quite well. From sweet clean tone to screaming classic gain! The profile pack comes with 29 profiles; 25 studio and 4 direct’s.

Also, someone might wonder why I’m using the black Gibson SG when I’m doing the “2 guitars, 1 profile” comparision. Well, I recorded the first part with the Yellow SG before I went on vacation… so when I got back home and started recording again, 8-10 days had passed and not really thinking before acting I just picked up the black SG instead of the yellow one. Forgetful? Me?! Nah…!

That’s it – hope you like the video and support ToneJunkie and buy the pack if you like what you hear! If you wanna support me you don’t have to buy anything, just click the subscribe button. A great many thanks to all you who subscribes!!

Gibson Dirty Fingers pickups X 3 (different guitar models – same pickups)

Sound Demo/Test by Have Guitar

OK, so I mainly did this video because I could… it’s not every day that I have three different guitars with the same pickup configuration in the studio! So there’s my Gibson Explorer Tribute 2019 and then Klas Gibson SG and Explorer Government Series I – all equipped with Gibson Dirty Fingers humbuckers. Is there a difference? Watch this video to make your own decision!

Some info about the Government Series I:
“Using the woods returned from the 2 highly questionable raids the US Government did on their factory in Nashville, Gibson has decided to release the new Government series of guitars. Limited in number, these guitars feature a “Government Grey” finish, classic Dirty Fingers model pickups and come in new olive green hardshell cases. 300 Les Pauls, 175 SGs, 100 Explorers and 100 Flying Vs are all that are being built.”

I have reviewed both the Gibson Explorer and SG Government Series I in separate video’s – check out the link below if you’re interested in that. And whilst pushing my own videos I have of course reviewed my own Gibson Explorer Tribute 2019 as well, link also included.

Ignite Amps Emissary Setup in your DAW

HowTo by Have Guitar!

This video shows how to setup Ignite Amps Emissary together with Nad IR Impulse Response Loader in your DAW. I use Reaper but if you’re running another DAW I’m pretty sure what I do here is quite easily transposed into your DAW of choise.

The reason I’m doing this video is because I have gotten various questions about how to get Emissary to work. I hope I have covered enough and in a simple way that is easy to understand! Feel free to ask and I will provide an answer if I can. Same thing if you feel I have missed something or if I could have done it better in anyway – I’m always open for constructive critisism but you will have to live with my Swedish accent! 😉

Hope you liked the video and that you got some help out of it! If you feel you wanna support my channel – subscribe! Doesn’t cost you a dime, but you knew that already right? To You who do subscribe – Thank You!!!

Gibson Government Series I Explorer – Test / Review

Guitar review by Have Guitar

So… back with Gibson Government Series I and this time it’s of course the Explorer! Again, a fat Thank You to Klas – without him these nice guitars would never had passed through my hands! The Government Series is a limited run that seems to have gone unnoticed even by some guitar connoisseurs that I know, so story in short; the US government siezed some materials from Gibson but the company later got back that and well, they built the Government Series I & II with that wood. Cool story!

So, the specifications of the Explorer is in the video, I think I actually found more on the Explorer than I did on the SG. I believe that while Gibson built 300 SG’s they only built 100 of the Explorers… and that is that. Now watch the video instead, index can be found below. Thanks for watching Have Guitar and I hope you’ll like this video. A big thunderous Thanks goes out to all of you who support me by subscribing!

Orange Rockerverb Ultimate Kemper Profiles by Gold Lion Audio (Kemper profiles demo)

Rig Showcase by Have Guitar!

Another ‘premier’ – the new Orange Rockerverb Ultimate Kemper Profile pack from Gold Lion Audio – yes! The Orange amps has a special sound that hits me in the right spot every time and this pack is no different.

Another good thing with this profile pack is that it comes with studio, direct and merged profiles – something for all tastes in other words! Also there has been five different cabs used while creating these profiles which gives a good variation of tones. Might add that these profiles recreates the sound from an Orange Rockerverb 100 head!

There is not much else to say than this is a great pack if you like that orange tone… personally, I love it. So thanks for watching Have Guitar and I do hope you will like this demo. Please support the channel with a subscription! To you who do already – Thanks!!!
